NSW: Rock fisherman dies after being swept into sea
A 49-year-old rock fisherman has died after being swept into the sea at Kurnell in
Sydney's south.
Police say the man, from Croydon in Sydney's inner west, was fishing with a friend
on a rock platform at Yena Gap in the Botany Bay National Park when he was swept away
about 8am (AEST) yesterday.
A spokesman says the other man was able to attract the attention of a father and son
who were fishing in a nearby boat and together they dragged his friend from the water
but he was unable to be revived.
A post mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death and a
report is being prepared for the Coroner.
