WA: Gallop to push PM over Aboriginal violence issues
West Australian Premier GEOFF GALLOP will push Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD for a nationalagreement on how to reduce domestic violence among Aboriginal families at Friday's Councilof Australian Governments meeting.
Aboriginal issues -- particularly the behaviour of indigenous youngsters who he's brandedas out-of-control -- are once again at the forefront of the WA government's politicalagenda, after the death of a 12-year-old joyrider last week.
Dr GALLOP will bring the local issue to a national forum at Friday's meeting, seekingagreement from the prime minister on Commonwealth funding to deal with the problem.
