Vic: Logies - the Packer Awards?
MELBOURNE, Feb 5 AAP - This year's Logie Awards could almost be dubbed the Packer Awards.
Every part of the 45th television awards - from the voting system and venue to thetelevision broadcast - is under the control of Kerry Packer companies.
Like previous years, the event will be held at Mr Packer's Crown Casino in Melbourneand broadcast on his Nine Network.
But now, after a legal battle against media rival Kerry Stokes, Australia's richestman has control of the magazine that runs the awards - TV Week.
Mr Packer's ACP Magazines purchased TV Week from Pacific Publications last year.
